First Aid Training For Workplace Safety

First Aid Training For Workplace Safety

Jaidah Group – one of the most influential and successful conglomerates operating in Qatar – has announced the conclusion of its first session of First Aid and CPR training courses for its employees. Earlier in 2012, recognising the importance of enhancing the First Aid and CPR skills in the workplace, Jaidah Group announced a programme in conjunction with Qatar Red Crescent to train its staff in these vital disciplines.

The first two-day session of training has now taken place and staff who successfully completed the course have received certificates – valid for two years – that recognise their competence to administer First Aid.

The course undertaken by staff provides training for ‘first respose’ to an accident or health emergency designed to lessen the impact of the situation until the arrival at the scene of advanced medical assistance. The course included instruction on prevention of, and reaction to, a range of situations, including: Safety & Prevention, CPR, Wounds/Burns, Fractures, Sunstroke, Poisoning and Evacuation, among others.

Jaidah Group’s Chief Development Officer, Mohamed Jaidah, commented, “The concept of safety and well-being in the workplace is one that we take very seriously indeed. The aim of the First Aid and CPR training in collaboration with Qatar Red Crescent is to ensure that our employees work in a safe environment and have emergency coverage during working hours.

“Part of the battle, of course, is to have an understanding of safety and prevention – to do our best to ensure that accidents don’t happen in the first place. For this reason, the more knowledge our staff have of what makes for a safer workplace – and how to keep it that way – is of the utmost importance.

“It’s also worth pointing out that these First Aid skills are of value outside of the workplace as well as in it, so we feel that Jaidah is making a societal contribution for the greater good in ensuring our staff are appraised of a number of health emergency techniques.”
