Rocket Internet’s Easy Taxi to Expand into Middle East and Africa

Easy Taxi, Latin America’s top taxi-booking app, has announced of its global expansion in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

After receiving an additional funding of $10 million from Rocket Internet and the African Internet Holding, the company decided to continue the strategy of fast growth. Just one month ago, Easy Taxi obtained $15 million from the Latin America Internet Holding.

Now, Easy Taxi will start business operations in Nigeria, with more countries to follow soon.

Dennis Wang, Head of International Expansion of Easy Taxi, “In 2011, Easy Taxi started in Brazil to connect taxi drivers and passengers in the best possible way. By now, the app has over 1,500,000 downloads and more than 45,000 taxi drivers in the network. We want to bring this success to other attractive markets and we see high potential in many Asian and African countries.”

Easy Taxi is active in Latin America and Asia. Now, the company expands its service further across continents and is also going to access Africa and the Middle East.
