Mom Souq Conducts Mompreneur Meet-up

After hosting its last Mompreneur Meet-up in June 2013, Mom Souq, UAE’s online classified for niche baby and children’s products that also supports mother entrepreneurs residing in the UAE, is all set to return after a summer break with its sixth Mompreneur Meet-up session.

Organized by Mom Souq in collaboration with Women In Network (WIN) by French Business Council and Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC), the Mompreneur Meet-up will be held on 18 September 2013 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm and will be held at a new venue – the Media One Hotel.

Mona Tavassoli, Founder, Mom Souq, said: “We are very excited to hold the next meet-up in collaboration with Women In Network by French Business Council and Dubai Business Women Council since these two bodies share very similar objectives for the women in UAE. Through this event, we aim to further help the Mom Souq community and mom entrepreneurs by opening many more doors for them to get in touch with useful contacts and increasing their network.”

With the aim of providing its community with innovative and new ways of networking, Mom Souq will organize this month’s meet-up in the format of a speed-networking event. Speed networking, a popular networking meeting format, will guarantee attendees of the event to meet a lot more business contacts than they would otherwise in an unstructured format.

Raja Al Gurg, President, DBWC, said: “Mom Souq, The Women In Network by the French Business Council and DBWC all share the common objective of promoting, educating and empowering women in this region in some way or the other. Mom Souq as a community focuses mainly on mothers in this region who are also entrepreneurs. This cross-networking event will be an excellent platform for the three entities to come together so that all its members can benefit from networking with each other, while at the same time educate themselves about the various challenges and opportunities that are faced by businesses in the region.”

Dubai Business Women Council is an organization under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry that represents, educates and empowers businesswomen, professionals and entrepreneurs in the UAE through diverse networking platforms and extensive training sessions, seminars and workshops.

Julie Leblan, President, WIN by FBC, said: “We are thrilled to be part of such a prestigious event allowing women living in the UAE to network together. It is a great way to promote women’s entrepreneurship in the region.”

With over 80 active members, Women in Network by the French Business council is a business club that allows women entrepreneurs and executives in the UAE to share the objectives of promoting women entrepreneurship and supporting them in their business and careers. The members of WIN by FBC are engaged in a variety of fields such as consulting, media, retail, financial services among many others. The club holds regular meetings to educate and provide networking opportunities to its members.

Taking a step ahead with its aim of increasing networking opportunities between mothers in the UAE, Mom Souq will also be announcing the launch of their new website, Mompreneurs Middle East (mompreneurs.me) – a new platform for Mom Entrepreneurs to communicate with each other – during this meet- up.
