In a strategic move to bolster innovation and entrepreneurship within the energy sector, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy has unveiled the “Taqatech Accelerator” program in collaboration with “The Garage” and supported by leading energy firms, academic institutions, and research centers, the initiative aims to empower startups and entrepreneurs driving technological advancement, economic diversification, and environmental sustainability.
The accelerator is designed to foster robust partnerships between the private sector and government entities, offering mentorship, technical guidance, and investor access to help startups scale impactful energy solutions. By focusing on innovations that improve energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and promote local content, the program aligns with the Kingdom’s broader goals of technology localization and job creation. It also supports ventures that contribute to Saudi Arabia’s global energy leadership, particularly in clean energy, emissions reduction, and infrastructure resilience.
Over the next three years, Taqatech will support 60 startups across three cohorts, guiding them through a four-phase journey that includes exploration, acceleration, pilot implementation, and investment rounds. This initiative not only reinforces Saudi Arabia’s commitment to Vision 2030 but also positions the Kingdom as a regional hub for emerging energy technologies.
Through Taqatech, the Ministry of Energy is cultivating a dynamic ecosystem where innovation thrives, sustainability is prioritized, and the next generation of energy pioneers can flourish.
