Spring has invested in Soor’s latest pre‑seed round, supporting the Bahrain‑based insurtech startup that is streamlining how users access, compare, and buy insurance through a unified digital platform. The funding will drive Soor’s growth, product enhancements, and expansion across Bahrain’s evolving insurance landscape.
Founded by Mahmood Dhaif and co‑founded by Qasim Albaqali, Soor is building a digital platform where users can compare insurance policies from different providers and purchase the one that suits them—all in one place. In a market where policies, pricing, and coverage details often feel scattered and confusing, the startup is betting on transparency and speed to deliver a more intuitive and customer‑centric experience.
Dhaif brings more than a decade of experience across corporate and startup environments, with a strong track record in driving business growth and digital innovation. Albaqali, a seasoned engineering leader, adds deep expertise in software architecture, engineering management, and building scalable technology solutions—forming a founder duo well‑equipped to modernise a traditionally complex sector.
Licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), Soor sits at the heart of Bahrain’s expanding fintech and insurtech ecosystem. The platform acts as a digital bridge between customers and insurers, helping users find, compare, and purchase policies in a faster, more transparent, and customer‑focused way. For insurers, Soor provides a modern digital channel that enhances reach, improves service delivery, and strengthens customer understanding.
Commenting on the investment, Mahmood Dhaif, Founder of Soor, said: “We built SOOR to simplify insurance for customers by helping them find policies that match their needs in less than a minute, from leading insurance companies in Bahrain. For insurers, SOOR creates a stronger digital channel to reach, serve, and understand customers better. With Spring’s investment, we can accelerate our mission to support the digital transformation of insurance and deliver greater value to the market.”
Spring’s investment aligns with its strategy of backing founders solving real market inefficiencies through technology. The firm sees strong potential in Soor’s ability to reshape how consumers interact with insurance in Bahrain and the wider region.
Zainab Khamis, Managing Director of Spring, added: “Insurance is an essential service, yet the experience has long been fragmented and difficult to navigate. Soor addresses this challenge with a clear and scalable solution, and we believe Mahmood and his team are well‑positioned to drive meaningful change in Bahrain and beyond.”
With the new funding, Soor plans to enhance platform capabilities, expand insurer partnerships, and further improve the user experience. The company will strengthen its presence in Bahrain while exploring regional expansion opportunities as digital adoption across financial services continues to accelerate.
