ABA Life, the healthcare arm of Moroccan technology group ABA Technology, has signed a US$40 million (approximately MAD 400 million) investment agreement with Admaius Capital Partners. The deal aims to accelerate the development of AI-powered healthcare solutions and support the company’s expansion abroad from its Moroccan base.
At the heart of the strategy is a program called “AI for Sovereign Health,” which seeks to build homegrown healthcare technologies. Through it, ABA Life plans to create an integrated ecosystem in Morocco that brings together artificial intelligence, medical devices, telemedicine, connected infrastructure and healthcare services.
The funding will be directed at three priorities. First, ABA Life will accelerate innovation in medical AI through Mediot AI, designing clinical intelligence solutions to support evolving medical practice and the running of healthcare systems. Second, it will strengthen industrial and operational capacity, enabling large-scale deployment of medical equipment, healthcare infrastructure, medical devices and connected healthcare services. Third, it will pursue international growth, developing technological and medical solutions in Morocco that are adapted to the needs of healthcare systems elsewhere.
The company presents the move as part of a wider push for African technological sovereignty, built on three pillars. The first is local capability: developing the skills, technologies and infrastructure needed to meet healthcare demand. The second is technological mastery, meaning stronger national ability to design and industrialize medical and digital solutions. The third is responsibility, ensuring that the use of AI in healthcare meets standards for security, data protection and trust.
ABA Technology said the agreement reflects its conviction that digital sovereignty matters most when it produces useful, responsible solutions tailored to human needs. It also described the partnership as a chance to support the scaling up of a Moroccan HealthTech player, with the challenge now being to turn development capabilities into accessible solutions that can be deployed widely.
Based in the Technopark in Casablanca, ABA Technology designs sovereign technologies in AI, IoT and edge computing for critical systems, healthcare, industry, energy and territories. With this agreement, its healthcare division gains fresh financial backing as it seeks to establish Morocco as a leading source of medical technology for international markets.
