In its efforts to support and nurture the UAE’s entrepreneur and small and medium enterprise (SME) owner community, Du has announced the launch of The Entrepreneur Forum.
The invitation-only Forum will be addressed by Deirdre Bounds as keynote speaker in addition to several renowned local business leaders, and will take place on 27 May in Dubai.
Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, Du will inaugurate the event and deliver a keynote address at the event.
This marks the natural development of Du’s desire to nurture a knowledge-based economy through the empowerment of entrepreneurs, by providing them with not only tailor-made communications solutions, but with the know-how required to become successful.
Faraidooni said, “We have always positioned ourselves as staunch supporters of the SME and entrepreneur community in the UAE. The Entrepreneur Forum was envisioned to be an inspiring platform for entrepreneurs, both seasoned and fresh, to network and share ideas with fellow peers, with a focus on three pivotal themes – brand, sustainability and ideas. By empowering SMEs with the knowledge and the communications requirements to succeed, we are nurturing the UAE’s largest contributor to GDP and employment, thereby playing our part in creating a more sustainable economic environment.”
Deirdre Bounds is a successful international entrepreneur and powerful speaker, who will address the invited attendees focusing on SME business growth, brand presence, savvy marketing and fearless innovation.
Joining her in addressing The Entrepreneur Forum will be Waleid Abdulkareim, founder of OnTime, a leading UAE government and corporate services provider; Donna Benton, founder of The Entertainer voucher books brand; Fadi Malas, founder of the Just Falafel vegetarian fast food revolution, and Samer Geissah, Vice President – Innovations in Du.
“As part of our mission and vision to support the UAE’s entrepreneurs and SME sector, we are pleased to announce The Entrepreneur Forum. This is the latest in our initiatives to provide SMEs with engaging, inspiring platforms that promote and enhance thought leadership, providing them with an opportunity to network with experts and peers to gain greater insights into the sector and acquire knowledge of best practices,” said Hatem Bamatraf, Executive Vice President, Enterprise, Du.
Du has been a staunch supporter of entrepreneurs and SMEs since its inception. In addition to creating communications plans specifically tailored to the needs of the SME sector, such as The Entrepreneur Plan, Business Super Plan Plus and Her Business Super Plan, Du has been involved in several initiatives to encourage entrepreneurs.
A leading example of this is The Entrepreneur, the region’s first reality TV show focusing on entrepreneurs, launched by Du in 2012. Additionally, Du has a long-term partnership with entrepreneur incubator Shelter.
