Schneider Electric signs a MoU with Arab Youth Center

Schneider Electric today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Arab Youth Center to prompt the next generation to lead the path for a sustainable and digital future.

The agreement was signed at Schneider Electric’s Innovation Summit Middle East & Africa that took place on 18-19 May at the Coca-Cola Arena Dubai, UAE, under the theme: Digital, the Path to the Sustainable Future.

Mr Luc Remont, Executive Vice President for Schneider Electric, said: “The Middle East is among the youngest regions in the world with half its population under the age of 25. Today, young men and women in the region are increasingly educated and becoming more conscious by the day about greening our planet.

“The next generation can be the catalyst for change, and by partnering with Arab Youth Center, we can educate youths across the nation on climate action and to make energy efficiency behavioral changes.”

Under the agreement, Schneider Electric will become the newest member of the Arab Technology Fellowship for Arab Youth, the regional initiative enabling Arab youths to bridge the gap in skills utilized across various technology disciplines including ICT, digital transformation, innovation and interactive emerging technologies.

Schneider Electric will also form a partnership with the Arab Youth Council for Climate Change to engage with climate issues and support the next phase of people routing for environmental action ahead of Cop 27 taking place in Egypt and Cop 28 in the UAE.

To further show its dedication towards developing youths in the UAE, Schneider Electric will dedicate a special ‘Youth Track’ in all upcoming Innovation Summits taking place in Arab capitals around the Middle East region. This will aim to engage youths across STEM and sectors related to sustainability, innovation and renewable energy.
