As part of its on-going commitment to supporting the next generation of UAE national talent, Mubadala – the Abu Dhabi based investment and development company – unveiled details of its annual Youth Forum, saying it expected double the attendance from last year.
The Forum is set to take place on 16th October at Zayed University, Khalifa City A campus. Following the success of the inaugural event in 2011, the Mubadala Youth Forum will once again offers UAE national students the opportunity to interact with leading Emirati business leaders and role models on the key questions they face as they embark on careers at the heart of Abu Dhabi’s economic development.
Bringing together leading business figures from UAE’s community and around 600 Emirati youth between the ages of 17 and 24, the event seeks to spark the imagination of young people by highlighting the exciting opportunities in key industries such as aerospace, aluminium, healthcare, renewables and advanced technologies and providing guidance on the job market-place using personal anecdotes.
Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO, Mubadala, commented, “As Abu Dhabi continues to make progress towards diversifying its economy and developing opportunities for the community, it’s vital that young people understand the important role they will play in driving the nation forward.”
One highlight of the event will be an interview with Khaldoon Al Mubarak, delivered by high-achieving Emirati students who will question him about Mubadala’s milestones in the last 10 years and the lessons he has learnt in his career to date.
Majed Al Khemeiri, one of the students, commented, “I know from my personal experience at Paris Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi what great opportunities the UAE is providing for its young people. If you set your mind on something, anything’s possible. Our leaders are forging a future full of opportunity and as the next generation, it’s our responsibility to make the most out of it.”
Bringing together students from universities across the UAE, with the aim of empowering and motivating each student, the event will comprise of a panel discussion about the opportunities in key industries and a series of interactive sessions tackling a number of career-related perceptions.
Panel members include leading executives from prominent businesses such as ATIC, Masdar Institute, Mubadala Aerospace, and Mubadala Industry. Senior executives from the Executive Office in Dubai, the Executive Office of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassemi (HHEO) and Goldman Sachs International, will also take part. Speakers will focus on their own personal career and life journeys in an effort to help shape young people’s ideas and highlight the opportunities on offer.
The Mubadala Youth Forum is an initiative of Weyana, Mubadala’s community engagement program, and is open to UAE nationals based in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi between the ages of 17-24.
