K.S. Parag, the co-founder and Managing Director at FVC Inc, has taken over the presidency of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Dubai, the local chapter of the global, not-for-profit, organisation originally set up in Silicon Valley.
The new role effective 1st January 2013 is for a period of two years. Parag joined TiE Dubai as a Charter member in 2009 and became a director on its board in 2010 for two years.
Parag will bring his experience as a co-founder of one of the Middle East’s leading value-added-distributors to further enhance TiE Dubai’s role in the business community.
“I am very pleased to have been selected by the charter members to be TiE Dubai’s new President and hope to use this opportunity to expand its membership to include more companies and individuals that represent the true spirit of entrepreneurship in Dubai,” said Parag.
“We have a lot of expertise to share with these budding entrepreneurs and know that membership to TiE will add value to the business community and nurture creativity,” he added.
Parag has more than 18 years’ experience in the Communications and IT Industry. He played a vital role in transforming the region’s communications landscape with the implementation of the first video conferencing solution in the Middle East in 1992.
Since FVC’s early beginnings in 2000, Parag has diversified the company from Rich Media Solutions to becoming the Middle East’s leading Value-Added Distribution Company for ‘best of breed’ networking and security solutions.
Parag has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communications. He has been actively involved with organizations as TiE and the American Business Council.
