Cairo based Startups Without Borders an organisation that believes in connecting migrant and refugee entrepreneurs with opportunities and resources to build their businesses, And, just few weeks back they conducted a one day program ‘Women On The Move’ to support refugee women living in Egypt. The event was organised in partnership with Fard Foundation, Entreprenelle, The Greek Campus, UNHCR, and Khatwa.
The event was a runaway success that saw over 200 refugee women entrepreneurs participate in Cairo’s The Greek Campus and they meet the key players of Egypt’s startup ecosystem. The diverse group of women from Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Eritrea, Sudan and South Sudan participated in talks, panels and workshops, leading to a pitching competition, where 8 entrepreneurs shared their startup ideas. The day was illuminated by the brilliant speakers at the event that shared inspiring stories and advice to all the participants.
