SAP, the world’s business software company, has emphatically underlined its dedication to up-skilling youth and creating employment in MENA’s burgeoning IT sector by enlisting 40 talented recruits to its ambitious MENA Field Services- Young Professionals Program (YPP).
The groupwas welcomed to the two-year program at SAP’s offices in Cairo and Riyadh following an intensive selection process that entailed seeing off stiff competition from over 600 applications nominated by top universities and employers, as well as undergoing a series of interviews and multifaceted aptitude tests.
The YPP program is set to provide students with hands-on training in cutting-edge SAP solutions including Enterprise Resource Planning, Mobility, and the in-memory computing trailblazing capabilities of HANA.
They will also gain extensive project experience with SAP partners and customers in order to gain invaluable skills and experience with multi-industry appeal.
“It is an honour to be accepted to SAP’s YPP,” said Egyptian student Mohammed Atta. “Learning from such a respected and influential company is a wonderful opportunity to develop skills and attributes that will truly set me apart in the job market. I have big ambitions for the future, and this is exactly the progressive platform I need to help make them a reality.”
Ahmed Alwaji, a student from Saudi Arabia sounded a similar note, adding, “SAP’s solutions have the potential to play a major role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s business future. The YPP is a perfect fit for a country with a young population and a desire to innovate. SAP is giving me the chance to effect positive change on the absolute cutting-edge and I can’t wait to get started.”
The overarching aim of the YPP is to create a pool of technologically articulate consultants with a strong cultural and social understandingof regional idiosyncrasies, a key requirement for SAP as it seeks to ramp up the localization process of its solutions as a part of an ambitious four yearadditional investment plan to up-skill local talent and drive sustainable innovation and growth in MENA.
