BENEFIT rolls out Digital Direct Debit in Bahrain

Bahrain’s leading fintech company, BENEFIT, has launched its Digital Direct Debit service, bringing credit and payment capabilities together to support a more connected lending journey — from credit assessment through to the secure and timely repayment of financial obligations.

The new service enables banks and financial institutions to establish recurring debit arrangements electronically, making it easier to collect instalments and scheduled payments while reducing reliance on manual and paper‑based processes. Customers benefit from a straightforward, digitally enabled way to manage monthly commitments according to agreed payment amounts and schedules.

By combining BENEFIT’s payment expertise with the capabilities of the Bahrain Credit Reference Bureau, the service integrates key stages of the lending journey within a unified framework. Credit information supports sound, informed lending decisions, while the payment component provides an efficient mechanism for managing recurring repayments. Together, these capabilities offer financial institutions a practical foundation for delivering a more consistent, end‑to‑end lending experience.

Latifa Al Mutawa, Assistant General Manager of the Bahrain Credit Reference Bureau, said: “The growing interest in Digital Direct Debit among banks and financing companies reflects the market’s continued shift toward more seamless and digitally enabled lending journeys. By connecting reliable credit information with an efficient digital repayment mechanism, we are helping lenders strengthen the end‑to‑end lending experience — from informed credit decisions through to the collection of repayments. This integration simplifies processes for financial institutions, improves the customer experience, and provides a stronger foundation for the continued growth of digital lending in Bahrain.”

Shafaq Al Kooheji, Assistant General Manager of Payment Services at BENEFIT, added: “Digital Direct Debit gives participating institutions a reliable way to arrange and process recurring financial obligations based on clear, pre‑authorized instructions. It reduces operational processing, makes payments easier for customers, and supports more consistent collections. Its applications also extend beyond lending to the insurance sector, where it can be used to collect premiums in line with agreed payment schedules, making it relevant across a wide range of financial activities.”

BENEFIT continues to deliver services and solutions that contribute to a more connected financial infrastructure in Bahrain, enabling institutions to provide experiences that are more efficient, secure, and responsive to customer needs. By linking payment capabilities with credit information, the company is offering practical tools that strengthen the Kingdom’s lending ecosystem and broaden the adoption of digital financial services across the local market.
