UAE-based healthtech startup Nabta Health has strengthened its growth trajectory after securing a new investment from Phoenix Venture Partners (PVP), which led the second close of the company’s ongoing $3 million Pre-Series A funding round. The investment, which includes a mix of primary and secondary capital, further deepens the long-standing relationship between the two organizations as Nabta Health prepares for its next phase of expansion.
Founded in 2017 by Sophie Smith, Nabta Health has evolved from a direct-to-consumer women’s healthcare platform into a provider of AI-powered preventive healthcare solutions serving employers, insurers, healthcare providers and patients. Over the years, the company has invested significantly in technology development, clinical infrastructure and research, laying the foundation for a broader healthcare ecosystem focused on prevention, early intervention and improved health outcomes.
At the heart of Nabta Health’s offering is Aya, its AI-supported care navigation platform that helps guide patients through preventive screenings, personalized care pathways and access to healthcare services. By connecting patients, insurers, employers and providers, the platform aims to facilitate more coordinated and proactive healthcare delivery while helping organizations better manage long-term healthcare costs.
The latest funding round has attracted participation from a diverse group of investors, including venture capital firms, institutional investors, family offices and high-net-worth individuals. The new capital will be used to accelerate Nabta Health’s commercial expansion efforts, strengthen customer acquisition initiatives and establish deeper strategic partnerships across the healthcare, insurance and employer ecosystems.
As part of the investment, Steve Khayat, Founder and CEO of Phoenix Venture Partners, will join Nabta Health’s board as PVP’s representative. The appointment comes as the company shifts from a prolonged period of product development and research toward commercialization and scale.
The investment also builds on Nabta Health’s successful fundraising journey. In late 2025, the company raised $2 million in a Pre-Series A round, bringing its total funding to $4.5 million. With fresh capital and strategic support from PVP, Nabta Health is positioning itself to expand its AI-driven preventive healthcare model and accelerate growth across the region’s healthcare landscape.
Sophie Smith, Founder and CEO of Nabta Health, added: “We are delighted to welcome PVP as a shareholder and Steve to our Board at an important stage in NABTA’s journey. PVP brings not only capital, but also the regional relationships and hands-on support that can help us accelerate our next phase of commercial growth and deepen our partnerships with employers, insurers and healthcare providers.”
