Bahrain SMEs Development Society Discusses 2016 Plan

Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Development Society discussed the plans of its sub-committees for the year 2016, during its fourth board of directors meeting which was held recently in its offices in Juffair, headed by its Chairman, Ahmad Sabah AlSaloom.

Khulood Abdul Qadir, head of Entrepreneurship subcommittee, reviewed the plans of the committee, which focuses on promoting the culture of entrepreneurship in Bahrain, helping them to overcome obstacles and offering free counseling for enterprises. Ammar Awachi, officer of ALWANE Bahrain said the committee is planning to host series of events and workshops that target woman, in addition to organizing an open market dedicated for start-up businesswomen.

Suhair Bukhammas, head of markets committee, said they are planning to launch a unique initiative to support old markets as well as organizing conferences to tackle the challenges facing SMEs in Bahrain. Commenting on this occasion, Ahmad AlSaloom said “The society aims to play a vital role in supporting SMEs in Bahrain by helping them to increasing their competitiveness and finding new business opportunities and markets, in collaboration with various governmental and private bodies.”

“We have a busy agenda for 2016 and we are hoping to end this year with tangible achievements. I would like to thank the board members for their hard efforts in this regard.” During the meeting, the society discussed the progress of Farouk Almoayyed Clinics Center, which is managed by the society.

AlSaloom added “the center is a first of its kind initiative in Bahrain which will provide 22 fully equipped clinics that can serve up to 66 doctors. Work is underway to open the center which will offer medical services at reduced prices for Bahrainis and residents”. The meeting was attended by Ahmad Alsaloom, Khalaf Hujair, Khulood Abdul Qadir, Nofal Al Kooheji, Suhair Bukhammas, Ammar Awachi and Ahmed Khalfan.
