A Dubai based forum will open the doors for international businesses from six continents to expand into the region, meeting the $43 billion private sector investment growth in the UAE. The forum, Arabian Gateway, will attract companies across the world to take advantage of the UAE, one of the world’s most sought-after destinations for global investment.
Dubai’s position as a business hub was sealed earlier this year after the city ranked as the third most dynamic city in the world to conduct business, after San Francisco and London, according to the Jones Lang LaSalle’s 2014 City Momentum Index.
“The government of Dubai has shown an unwavering commitment to economic diversification and building on its attractions as an investment destination,” said Fahad Al Gergawi, CEO of Dubai FDI, one of the supporters of Arabian Gateway. “With Dubai selected to host the World Expo 2020 the city will attract a varied range of business expertise and the government has pledged to spend nearly 30 billion dirhams (US$8.1 billion) in Expo-related infrastructure alone.”
“Dubai FDI is delighted to support the Arabian Gateway forum as this gathering and its objectives are well-aligned to our mission of enabling businesses and investors overseas to benefit from being in Dubai,” added Al Gergawi.
The forum will aid international companies to move quickly to establish a physical presence in the UAE, by linking global firms and business professionals with MENA experts in law, finance, logistics, and government as well as those looking to set up during the Expo.
“People running international businesses want to learn how to access this fast growing market, and the myriad of options available can be daunting,” said Neil Wood, Managing Partner of Bluestone, the company behind Arabian Gateway. “There is one overriding piece of advice that all experienced companies working in the region will tell anyone; that you have to be committed to the region, which starts by having a business base here.”
Arabian Gateway kicks off at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai from 25th-29th May 2014. Speakers and workshop leaders include key management and personnel from Clyde and Co, Emirates NBD, Zawya Thomson Reuters, Dubai FDI and Dubai Chamber.
In addition to collaborative workshops, guest delegates will get the chance to hear successful strategies firsthand from senior Emirati and expatriate business owners from the region.
