Newly launched pizza and eats concept, The Pizza Guys, have one philosophy – to never compromise on quality. Situated in Business Bay’s new Bay Avenue Mall, The Pizza Guys make their pizzas, pastas and sandwiches with ingredients that are simple, of the highest quality, and fresh.
To fulfill their promise to their customers, the venue does not house a freezer. Open daily from 11am to 10:30pm, and until 11pm on Thursdays and Fridays, customers can be transported to an authentic New York style pizzeria with the taste, heart and soul of Naples.
After eating pizza in Dubai for a number of years, business partners and husband and wife team Amber Haque and Rami Badawi couldn’t help but notice something was missing. So they packed their bags and began their journey at Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, or Association of True Neopolitan Pizza, to train with the masters in the traditional art of Napoli pizza making.
From there they delved deeper into the art and science of other forms of artisanal baking to better understand the complexities of leavening dough. Armed with the knowledge of how to manipulate ingredients, time and temperature, the duo flew to New York to eat at the city’s most legendary pizzerias and began testing batch after batch of dough until they came up with their own secret recipe for a crispy, light and airy pizza base.
“We are obsessed with pizza,” comments Amber Haque. “We make everything in house using artisanal methods and ingredients we love. We are here every day and constantly testing, kneading, mixing, baking – seeing how we can make our pizza better. It’s a process that will never stop. Like the traditional Napoletana pizza, we keep our pizzas and our menus simple. When our dough is ready to be used there is no rolling pin in sight – it is shaped by hand in a truly artisanal way ensuring that all of our pizzas and breads are unique and different. It’s really about the quality of food and how it is prepared. For Rami, not having a freezer was a no brainer,” concludes Haque.
With the use of high quality ingredients such as hormone-free Wagyu beef, creamy handmade stracciatella cheese, rosemary potatoes, herb roasted chicken and sautéed spinach and mushrooms, the pizzas are cooked in a Valoriani brick oven they imported from Florence themselves. Complementing the world-class pizzas are classic spaghetti with Wagyu beef meatballs, chicken parmigiano with made-from-scratch artisanal loaves, salads and homemade cookies filled with luxurious Lindt dark chocolate.
