Enterprise Qatar is set to launch their latest initiative, “OQOOD”, which offers 70% subsidised legal services to the entrepreneurs and SME community in Qatar. “OQOOD” is EQ’s second initiative under the umbrella of “Istishara” program which has, previously, launched the consultancy services “Jadwa”.
The ‘OQOOD’ services target two main categories – entrepreneurs in the idea stage and SMEs. EQ will subsidise 70% of the legal services cost whereas the applicants will express their commitment by covering 30%. The program will provide a range of services related to the legal framework needed to start operations, which include the registration of intellectual property rights, trademarks, and writing contracts and agreements.
Commenting on the ‘OQOOD’ launch, Enterprise Qatar’s CEO Abdulaziz Al Khalifa said: “OQOOD will provide the legal framework for Qatari entrepreneurs and SMEs to reduce the risk associated with establishing their business. Assistance will be offered with regards to the protection of intellectual property rights to the project ideas and organizing framework of internal work with employees and externally with various commercial and regulatory parties to ensure continuous growth and sustainability”.
Al-Khalifa added: “We, at Enterprise Qatar, are committed to continuously present services to help the sector of SMEs, therefore we offer SMEs a range of various services such as providing office space to start operations, preparation of specialized feasibility studies service, in addition to our new “OQOOD” program. We are also in the process of launching more services steadily in the near future.”
