Mobily has incorporated the concept of innovation in the work environment through the adoption of the best programs which promote this concept on the ground.
In the light of the rapid development of the world telecom industry, the company has established its innovation strategy aiming to achieve the strategic objectives where this Initiative came to be a main pillar of Mobily’s (GED) strategy. In addition, the company has also adopted the new brand positioning (Innovate Your World) which has made “Innovation” the company’s core identity.
The company’s new innovation strategy was implemented through a series of campaigns carried out by the executive management of Mobily encouraging the staff to be creative. The campaigns included the allocating of 30 minutes of employees time per week to come out with new ideas creatively through “Departments Brainstorming sessions”.
Dr. Karl Michael Henneking, Mobily’s Chief Corporate Strategy & Marketing Officer, stressed that the culture of innovation is no longer a minor factor, but has become a major pillar to ensure business’ sustainability and growth. Stemming from the company’s pursuit of constant improvement, the Innovate Mobily platform was launched where Mobily staff submitted more than a thousand innovative ideas as this step aimed to support and stimulate innovation and creativity among employees. Dr. Henneking added “Telecom sector’s undergoing development and competition created necessity to be creative and to come up with innovative ideas vying for attention to consolidate our leadership role on various levels.”
It is worth to mention that Mobily has rewarded employees in for their innovative ideas based on the evaluation by a committee composed of top executives headed by the CEO.
The staff with winning ideas in the first three ranks were rewarded SR25,000, 20,000, and 15,000 respectively. If the idea is successfully implemented, then the owner of approved idea will receive SR100,000 in prize.
