Aspire Zone welcomes a busy week filled with three major community initiatives. The events, which are taking place in the Aspire Dome, have been designed to promote healthy lifestyles within Qatar. The GCC U-20 Youth Cup has brought together teams from all over the region to compete in a challenging 11 day tournament. The six-nation football competition will come to a much-anticipated climax tonight with the final match taking place between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia inside the Aspire Dome at 5pm.
The Aspire Walkabout, which has been organized in accordance with Aspire Logistics, will also be held throughout the week and will provide participants with a chance to walk without having to deal with the uncomfortable summer heat.
The Aspire Walkabout is a free initiative which got underway on 7th August inside the magnificent Aspire Dome in an effort to boost healthy lifestyle interest among residents during Ramadan. Available on a daily basis, it offers the community the opportunity to take a stroll through the air conditioned building. The Walkabout is open from 4pm to 6pm and 8pm to midnight for both male and female adults, whilst children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Originally a 2 week initiative, due to overwhelming success the Walkabout has been extended until the end of September. Separately, members of the Doha Bay Running Club and other joggers within the community are taking advantage of the Indoor Athletics facility. These Track Sessions are suitable for those who want jog or run around the indoor athletics track to keep their fitness levels up during the warmer months. It is open from 6pm-8pm on Tuesdays only at the Indoor Athletics Track inside Aspire Dome with a small fee of QR20.
Avid supporters are encouraged to come along and support their favorite team at the GCC U-20 Youth Cup Finals and to participate in the Aspire Walkabout or Track Sessions.
